Prayer Request

Oct 9th, 2010No Comments

Every once in a while I will share prayer requests that I have heard as I firmly believe in the great power of prayer. If you ever are in need of prayer, I would count it a privilege to pray with and for you.

Kelly had shared a request one day last week of a young wife named Leslie from Oklahoma. She and her husband, Mark were expecting twins and she unexpectedly went into labor at 21 weeks with them and lost both babies (a boy and a girl). However, during her c-section, Leslie went into Cardiac Arrest and was without oxygen for quite some time causing her to go into a coma. After nearly 2 weeks in a coma, Leslie went home to be with Jesus on Thursday.

Please lift her family up. Especially her husband Mark and his three children as they lost their first wife and mommy just three years ago to breast cancer.

I don’t know why this family has had to endure so much heartache and loss, but please be lifting them up in prayer. Pray for the comfort of their hearts, peace and they, as believers, would stay strong in their faith and continue to cling to Jesus.

Show Us Your Life | Kitchen

Well, I enjoyed SUYL so much last week that I decided to come back for round two. This week is another one of my favorite rooms in the house, the kitchen. I love spending time in the kitchen cooking meals for my family and our occasional guests.

The kitchen, as it is now, was our second redo since we moved in four and a half years ago. I nearly thought Jay was going to loose it when I told him that I wanted to paint the walls and cabinets again last spring, as well as replace the countertops, sink and put up a new backsplash. But he stuck with me and we are both really happy with how it turned out (at least I think we both are :) ). I am sure that some of you can relate, to the fact that when you are young and get a place of your own, you are so excited to put your touch on it and can’t wait to dig in but, well, sometimes it just does not turn out the way you had hoped. That was the case with this room for sure! I love everything about our kitchen now. (more…)

These are a few of my favorite things….

Show Us Your Life | Dining Room

Ding Dong!

Well hello! Welcome and come on in! Ok….that was a bit on the tacky side :)

So this is my first time ever joining “Show Us Your Life” over at Kelly’s Korner and this week was dining rooms. As you will remember, we had a small incident a few months back that led to the remodel of our dining room. I had promised pictures of the final product but have not posted any until now. So welcome into our dining room, which is probably my most favorite room in the whole house, for many reasons.

One of the biggest reasons that it is my favorite room is because of our table which was my moms. After my mom passed away, the task of dividing up her assets between the four of us kids was something that had to be done. I knew that I really, really, really wanted the table that my parents had bought when I was very little. So many good conversations, meals and memories have been enjoyed around this table and I want to do the same with my kids. I am really hoping to eventually find two more (more…)

Hey all! Did you think that I forgot about you? No way! I just got uber lazy and took an unscheduled unintentional month long sabbatical from blog land. I guess I just haven’t had a whole lot to say (ok so that’s a little fib).

I don’t know about where you all live, but here in Ohio, fall is FINALLY here!!!! It is hands down, my most favorite time of year. I look forward to everything that fall brings. Cool weather, the beautiful colors, the smells and sounds, football and of course…..THE FOOD! Nothing says fall to my soul like some good home cookin’! (more…)
