Nuptials and babies?

What a fun, girlfriend filled weekend! This weekend Caroline and I had 2 wedding showers and 1 baby shower. Even though we normally try to spend our weekends together as a family, I really enjoyed some precious alone time with my little peanut girl and getting to visit and celebrate with a lot of special ladies in preparation for 2 weddings and a new baby girl.

Now that my weekend is over, I need to get on the ball and start finalizing some plans for my best friend, Angies, baby shower here in a few weekends.

If you have ever hosted a shower of any kind, what are some of your favorite ideas/tips? I love to get creative and am always looking for some new and cute ideas.

Have a great week!

We Need To Talk

I am sure that this is a line that all of you have heard at one time or another in your life wether it be from a friend, parent, spouse, child or boss.

Early this morning, around 3:30 am I woke up out of a deep sleep and could not for the life of me get comfortable enough to fall back asleep.

I knew that my being wide awake at 4:00 was God telling me “We need to talk. It’s been to long.” Just like my relationship with my husband and children, my relationship with God requires daily communication, conversation and alone time. (more…)

Holding On For Dear Life

This pretty much sums up my week:

I haven’t blogged much over the last week since I have been back due to a need of “checking out” for a few days. This past week has not been a very good one emotionally and I couldn’t bring myself to write anything because I was  dealing with a lot of emotions that I wasn’t expecting as a result from last weekend. I feel like I have been holding on for dear life when it comes to anything tangible that is left from my mom’s time here on earth but mostly clinging on to Christ trying to keep my head above water. These past few days I feel like I am barely making it and am once again, humbled by my God, letting Him carry me through this valley learning to have total dependence on Him and not myself. (more…)

Tasty Tuesday | Moussaka and Greek Salad

Apr 20th, 2010No Comments

It’s all greek to me! I have been having such a terrible craving for Moussaka lately so I decided to brave it and attempt to make it all by myself. The only other time that I ever eat it is when my mother-in-law makes it so I had some big shoes to fill when deciding to try and make it for Jay tonight. All in all, it turned out pretty good and even Joel liked it! That is a big deal in this house. Traditional Moussaka is made with eggplant but you can also make it with potatoes or zucchini or a mixture of the two which (more…)
