Chicken and Noodles | Tasty Tuesday

I am sure that I have said it before, but I LOVE food! Especially comfort food like this recipe. I have been looking for a great chicken and noodle recipe for a while now and this is the winner. It was a hit with the whole family and will be made again very soon. Although I think the homemade noodles really add to it’s deliciousness factor, you could use store bought.

Recipe: Noodles

Exploring

Oct 16th, 2010No Comments

This is basically a “fluff post” for your viewing enjoyment of our fun family Saturday.

It was such a gorgeous day outside so we decided to go exploring with the kids. We took them to our favorite park that is not  far from our house. It’s right by the river and has some beautiful trails. This is what came of our big expedition.

525,600 Minutes

Oct 16th, 20102 Comments

It’s been 525, 600 minutes and every one of them has drug on (yet they’ve flown by). Some more painfully than others.

I don’t know why, when thinking of my mom, the song “Seasons Of Love” came to mind. I suppose that the reason would be that to recognize “one” year doesn’t seem to do it justice when it feels like so much more than that. 525,600 is a more adequate interpretation of exactly how it feels. Like miles in a long journey, that’s how many thoughts of you have run through my mind.

I am so thankful for the life that you gave to me and the wonderful blessing of a sister and two brothers. We are each a little piece of you that live on. We are each others support and comfort when no one else can be that for us. It’s a true gift! (more…)

Tasty Tuesday | Hash Brown Ham Quiche

Oct 12th, 2010No Comments

This week I have a recipe that is tried and true. My mom first started making this when we were little and it was always a hit. Jay and Joel both love when this one makes its way onto the menu. Even though it is more of a breakfast food, it tends to be served more for dinner at our house with some sweet corn and applesauce :) (Not mixed together of course.)

I hope that you all enjoy this personal favorite as much as we do.

Fall Welcome

Oct 9th, 20102 Comments

Yesterday I got a serious itch to decorate and put “my touch” on something so I loaded the kids up in the car and we headed to town. Since my flowers are done blooming in the flower beds, the outside of the house looks a little blah and needed some visual  interest. I have never really decorated the outside of our house for the fall season but have always wanted to so that’s what I had my mind set on.

First we headed to a local country store where we got some mums, indian corn and corn shocks (which is something new that I learned. I always thought they were called shucks.) Since we are surrounded by cornfields, my husband wasn’t too pleased that I went and spent $4.99 for one large bundle (I split it in half) when we could have just asked on of the farmers around us for some. Oh well. I had an unplanned project in mind and you know how that goes, you  just wanted it done now!
