Revenge of the wallpaper!!!!! And some Tasty Tuesday

NOOOOO!!! Tell me it’s not so! It’s my worst nightmare! That’s right, it’s wallpaper. I am telling you all, I don’t care if it was in style EVER, it should be a crime to hang that stuff. It is downright evil. When we first bought our house it was in every room and had at least 3 layers. We had removed every last shred of it up until our little ceiling fiasco on Saturday when the last of it showed up under the drop ceiling.

Remodels here, there, EVERYWHERE!

If you are a homeowner, you know that it is true when people tell you that the work never ends. There is always some project or another that needs to be done and the list never gets any smaller. Jay and I have been in our house for just over 4 years now and have done a lot since we have been here. But now we are reaching the point where we are going through and doing some things that we didn’t have the money for when we first moved in and had to just be patient and wait.

After my little landscaping makeover, I decided to keep the momentum going with checking off the good ole’ “To Do” list and move onto the kitchen floors. This was something that I have been wanting to do for quite some time now but there were more important things to be done so we just tried to make what he had work for as long as we could. It just so happened that I had stopped into our Big Lots for a few things in particular and just nose around and see if I happened upon any good finds and boy did I! (more…)

2 Advil Please!

So here I am again. Forgetting all about this little thing that I had started here and ignoring all of you. What can I say, it’s been a bit crazy around here! I am sure that you all know how that goes. However, be ready to hear from me a lot in the next couple days as I have tons of photos and updates to share with you.

I am sure that most of you have been enjoying this lovely heat wave over the last few days as much as I have (insert sarcasm here). Don’t get me wrong, I love summer but I could really do without these sultry, humid mid 90 degree days. (more…)

Relay For Life

This past weekend was the Relay for Life at one of our local high schools. We did not personally have a team but my Aunt Andrea has walked the past couple of years through her workplace and last year we went and joined her and again this year. I am hoping that next year we will be able to raise some money of our own and have a friends and family team that walks in memory of my mom.

Even though we did not have a team of our own, some of the FFE (the high school show choir that my brothers were in) moms and kids had a team that walked all night long in memory of mom. We can not tell you ladies how much this meant to our family as mom made some wonderful friendships because of FFE and enjoyed spending her weekends with all of you at shows and competitions. Tisk, Tisk, Tisk

I have been such a lazy blogger lately. Shame on me. I guess that I have been too busy having fun and enjoying summer and didn’t realize how long it has been since I have tuned in. Needless to say, I have LOTS of pictures, news and chatting writing to catch up on with you all.

So where to begin???? I guess I will start with the most recent happenings and just work my way back a few weeks.

Not only are we celebrating Fathers Day this weekend, but our little family will be celebrating hubby/daddy’s birthday on Friday. Since we are going to have a super busy weekend, I surprised Jay with an early celebration date night here: (more…)
