In The Spirit
I don’t know about you all, but I just absolutely love Sundays! I love weekends all around, but I particularly look forward to getting up on Sunday mornings and getting to go to church and spend time in worship and being fed by the Spirit. If there is ever a Sunday that we are unable to make it to church, it really throws off my whole week.
Since I am in Florida this week, we attended church this morning with my sister and her family. I would consider their church my second church home. It is always such a treat to go and attend worship with them.
As already stated (numerous times, but I’ll say it again), I love music. This morning during worship, I was moved to tears as we sang this song: (more…)
‘Cause we’re leavin on a jet plane
So this week the kids and I are in the beautiful “Sunshine State” to visit with my younger sister, Lindsay and her family. Joel and Caroline love getting to spend time with their cousins Andrew and Joshua as they are all really close in age and I love getting to spend the time with my sister.
So we left early yesterday morning to head off to the airport for our flight. This is the first time that I have flown on my own with the two kids. Nothing stresses me out more than trying to get through airport with the kids in tow. Tootie Fruity Tasty Tuesday
Sorry, I’m not feeling super creative this week for Tasty Tuesday so both of these are pretty darn easy and anyone can make them, there’s no way to possibly mess these up.
This recipe was one that I started making when I joined Weight Watchers after I had Joel. Since the angel food cake is fat free and you can buy fat free cool whip and sugar free glaze, it was low on points. Healthy and yummy! Can’t go wrong with that!
Easter Weekend
I hope that you all had a great Easter weekend! We had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of fellowship with friends and family and some wonderful time spent in worship on Sunday.
I honestly can not tell you the last time that it did not rain or snow on Easter but we could not have asked for a more perfect day this year! The sun was out and it was in the mid 70′s so we spent most of our afternoon outside.
So it wouldn’t be a typical Emily post unless I added lots and lots of pictures and then a few more but (more…)
Holy Week Reflection
What a week! It has been a few days since I have last posted, but I have been taking a short break. This week was very different for me as I did something that I have never done before, a prayer fast. Let me just tell you, I LOVE food so I was more than just a little bit apprehensive when I really felt God lay it on my heart to fast…for 5 days. When I first told Jay that I was going to do this, I know he thought that I was nuts and was a little concerned. So we talked about it together and I explained to him why I was going to fast.
I know that there are some of you that read my blog and we have never even met, but it is very important to me that I am real with you and I want to be completely transparent when it comes to this post which is a little difficult for me. I have been raised in the church my whole entire life and I am sad to admit that even (more…)
