Initial love and Sprouts

I may have gone a little bit initial crazy. It all started with the shirt for sissy. When I finished that I wanted to keep the creativity going and make something else. My dear friend, Angie, and her husband are expecting their first baby in July and I wanted to make her something for her birthday and thought that a tote with the initial of her last name would be something cute and fun that she could use now for herself and as a diaper bag later for the baby. I thought I should go with something gender neutral as they don’t find out until next week wether they are having a little boy or girl and this is what I came up with: (more…)

Valentines Party

Feb 17th, 20102 Comments

I love when I get the opportunity to cook for others and I love to welcome people into our home so what does that lead to??? A party of course! Who doesn’t love a good party? I know that I certainly do. After being dumped with snow non stop the last week or so and being confined to the house, I decided that I am probably not the only one that was looking for something fun to do so I decided to throw together a little Valentines party for some of my stay-at-home mommy friends from church and their little ones. Last night I started to get a little worried that the party wasn’t going to happen because, go figure, it snowed! And snowed and snowed some more. Needless to say, the party still took place and we had a great time of fellowship all around! Us mommys got to sit and talk, the kids got to play nice and hard, get hyped up on a little (ok a lot) of sugar and then crash! Since Jay and I have started going to our church 3 years ago, we have been so blessed with a wonderful group of friends. Each one of these ladies and their friendship is just so special.

Time

Today marks four months since my mom was welcomed into Heaven. Wow. I can’t believe it has been four months already. That time has gone by so fast but yet so slow all at once if that makes any sense at all.

(This is a picture I came across the other day that I had never seen. Mom and grandma sitting in my hospital room waiting for Caroline to make her debut. A very happy MiMi and MawMaw.)

If you have ever suffered loss, have you ever thought about how cruel time can truly be? Maybe this concept doesn’t make sense. I don’t know. But I feel like life just keeps on without any regard to those that are hurting. Not that life has stopped for me since my mom has left this earth, but I am just so aware after her funeral how time seems to just keep going even though you feel like it should stop. Everyone around me continues on while I am still trying to figure out how to go on with life after a loss.  Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not holding a grudge against others for not being as “devastated” by our loss because I know that so many hurt along with us and for us.

So I have been taking lots of pictures that I wanted to add to different posts but just haven’t taken the time to do so. So this post is basically a hodge podge of pictures of Joel and Caroline over the last few weeks. Enjoy!

Can you guess what we had for dinner last night?

While Visions Of Spring Danced In My Head

We are on day #2 of being snowed in and the kids and I are going a bit stir crazy. Days like these make me long for capris and flip flops, sunshine and flowers. Since we are homebodies right now and can’t get out to the mall to browse, I decided to do a little web shopping. I wasn’t planning on making any purchases but when I found this adorable outfit for sissy at Crazy8 and it was on sale, I couldn’t resist.
