Small Town Livin’

*Warning- Picture overload :)

This weekend was the homecoming festival here in our little town. On Friday night they have the parade and then they have scheduled events, games for the kids and lots of yummy food down at the park all weekend. We always look forward to the fest since a lot of our friends come home for it that we don’t get to see on a regular basis.

Claiming our spot on the curb for some good seats.

Watching the parade coming from the end of the road where it starts up at the school. This was Caroline’s first time at a parade and I didn’t know how she would do with all of the loud noises, but she loved it!

What a life! Curbside service of graham crackers and milk to munch on while he comfortably sits and watches.

Joels favorite part: CANDY!!!!

Did not take sissy long to catch on to the idea.

And once she had it, she was NOT going to let it go. I ended up having to bribe her by letting her pick a piece to eat.

And since we are from small town Ohio: Lots and lots of tractors

Oh and naturally, we can’t forget the ever popular Zanobe Shrine clown in a motorized outhouse with “Git-R-Done!” written on the side ….. come on, you know it’s classy. “You might be a redneck if…..” What? You guys don’t have those in your parades?

After the parade we headed down to my in-laws for a huge 10 course (just kidding) home cooked greek meal. I think that I ate my weight in feta, pita and hummus alone.

Poor Caroline was buzzing from the sugar of the candy and snow cone and stuffed from feta and pita (since she is just like her momma).

Needless to say, we had a fun weekend with our family and friends.  I will be needing to hit the gym no less than 5 days next week after all the junk I consumed. But for now, it’s time to polish off the deep fried deliciousness that is a funnel cake. Hey, the weekends not over yet :) Happy Saturday!
